I have a big assignment on the above and need to conduct a literature review which looks at existing research in the area of the employment relationship between a company and directly employed temporary staff.

The field is quite sparce as it is and any research in existance seems to mainly focus on that between companies and agency employed temps (with a heaby bias on the regulatory requirements) which is a little off the mark as my focus is on temps directly employed by the companies they work for.

This is a HUGE longshot but does anyone know of any writers in this area??

the CIPD have literature on this as does some of the government websites such as cbi you may find this difficult to research as i am not sure what you mean by temps directly employed by companies as temps come from agencies whereas temporary staff directly employed by a company would be on a fixed term contract and have rights after one year etc - you could look at ACAS also
you could try posting this question under Law or Jobs & Education as well, you might find more answers there.
