We've got a canvas painting in the house that is of what would appear to be a little shed siuated beside a lake in a wooded area. It looks to be set around late evening or dusk and it looks like late summer or autumn time. The artist name is at the bottom left of the painting and looks like it says "lafiere" or Cafiere" but I'm not sure. Has anyone got an idea who it might be?
Thank you Octavius. The picture I have does seem to look very much like one I've just viewed by I. Cafieri on a website http://www.ovidija.com/images/cafieri_painting.jpg but the signature on the picture I have is done in joined writing and not capitals. If you are reading this could you tell me would it be common enough for an artist to sign paintings differently each time?
I also have a painting with I. CAFIERI in capitals down in the left hand corner of a little cottage, lake and woodlands...am also intrigued as to the artist and other works...
Most of the 'I.Cafieri' prints a mass produced in Hong Kong and whilst pleasing to the eye - they are not worth much - I own two with that name on and they are obviously by different painters...
