eeerm, formerly Napoleon, latterly I me in reply to a question on palindromes in Phrases & Sayings:o). Trudi
I hate to be pedantic but I don't believe this is a palindrome. From the end it reads "Able was I ere saw I Elba" which is not quite the same as above.
It should be 'Able was I ere I saw Elba'. Of course it wasn't Napoleon who said it. He didn't speak in English palindromic sentences did he? It's just another palindrome.
napolean said things like "bonjour le classe" and "lets keel ze eenglish pigs ha!" being that he was french
