A geriatric dog is about to be euthanised. Can anyone point me towards words to add to a photo card of Ben to give solace to its owners, my neighbours & best friends?

On my photo of my departed pet, I put her name, her years of birth and death, and the message 'a pet, a pal, and a pooch' (something I used to call her when she was alive).

I'm sure you have already completed this task, but for future reference, the "Rainbow Bridge" story is beautiful. It's perfect for any pet owner, especially those with children who will have to deal with the loss of a special friend.
