I dont think so. I think JK leaves that space open so theres always a new character. I cant wait to find out who the new teacher is in book 6!

No, it turns out that he lied on his C.V and he is actually a grammer school P.E teacher.

I really don't think he'll ever get the job. Dumbledore probably has his reasons and like what Siruis731 said, Rowling probaby keeps it open so new people can come into the story.

i kinda hope he does. somehow i feel a little sorry for snape.he seems to have a dark (sad dark) past.
