Many years ago I read a fascinating book about the construction of the R101 and its subsequent flight & crash. I would like to get hold of it again but unfortunately cannot remember the author or the exact title.

Can anyone help?
Many thanks in advance

Hi Clanad

Thanks for your answer but it's not the one I'm looking for
Scroll to the bottom of this page and there is a bit of a bibliography on the R101

Have a look at the References section at the bottom of this Wiki entry - there's four titles mentioned there

No good me adding that I thought you might mean R101: The Airship Disaster 1930, by Tim Coates. We have it in the house, and my husband thinks it's a very good book - so sorry!

Thank you all for your help and suggestions. I believe the one I'm looking for is The Airmen who Would not Die.

I've just got to track it down now.

Once again thanks for all the help
Try Slide Rule - the autobiography of Nevil Shute.

As Nevil Shute Norway he was very much involved in the R100, and there is a fascinating chapter or two about the whole episode.
