by George and Weedon Grossmith. Have you read this book? Or seen it when it was on television? Is it any good? Is it actually funny? Or too dated?

I joked just last week with a colleague at work who bought a laminator, and went round the house trying to find things to laminate, just as Pooter goes round with his red paint daubing everything in sight from the doorstop to the enamel bath. I called my colleague Pooterish and he fortunately understood the joke!
It's deservedly a classic that bears returning to every few years, and still makes me laugh out loud.

Hi notafish - also wanted to say if you enjoy the Diary, then try and get hold of a copy of this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mrs-Pooters-Diary-Blac k-Swan/dp/0552991171/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=book s&qid=1215462421&sr=8-1
It's a modern "sequel" which is equally funny - and good to see the same stories from Pooter's wife's point of view!
