In the Film "The Fugitive", in the final scene when the Harrison Ford characture is in the back of the police car with Tommy Lee Jones, Jones takes out from his inside pocket what appears to be a cellophane packet and gives it to Ford....What is in the packet?

I have watched this over and over and can not fathom it out...please help.

�Kimble is then finally freed by Gerard, who hands him an ice bag as they drive off in a limousine. The film ends with Kimble asking Gerard "I thought you didn't care?" to which Gerard says he doesn't, laughs, and smiling says "Don't tell anybody, okay?"
