affect or effect

I have been asked to place an advertisement in a local newsletter. The line that I am questioning is
"We can service vehicles without effecting your warranty"
My instinct says thst the word should be 'affecting'
Am I right.

I use a little aide memoire C [of] E, Cause and Effect, both nouns; so if it's not a noun (ie an Effect with a Cause) it starts with A.

Except, of course, effect can also be a verb - but only when it means 'to bring about' as in 'to effect a change'.

Sorry! You and Shaking etc are correct with affecting in your example.

The two verbs are:

to affect = to have an effect on
to effect = to bring about or produce
