Any ideas- a 1970s novel dedicated to "Elizabeth, with whom I first discovered the Lake District", with a few lines in Greek by Thucydides.

It is a novel by Richard Adams.
Sniff, I just find the info..
I think it may be Watership Down.
If it is a Richard Adams novel, he wrote one called The Plague Dogs which tells of 2 dogs escaping form an Animal Research Centre in the Lake Dictrict
He also wrote the following in the 1970s........ Shardik The Tyger Voyage The Ship's Cat But I don't know which it is.
