What is this book?

I read a book recently and only have patchy memories of it but am going mental trying to remember the title. The details I remember are this:
1. Each chapter has a different woman's name
2. Set in America in the middle of nowhere
3. Several women lived in a big house and grew vegetables
4. Ended in a massacre, possibly.

Any help would be much appreciated.
