One, I assume, would be the angry young men from varying areas of the uk, (Wales, Northerners etc.)breaking barriers between the class system. "Look Back in Anger" - John Osborne, "Saturday Night, Sunday Morning" - Alan Sillitoe and "Room At The Top" -  Tom Braine.   Also, certain subjects were broached such as in "Cathy Come Home" - Kenneth Loach,  "A Taste of Honey" - Shiela Delaney and so on.  Although a couple of the above were to set the pace for "things to come" and done in late 58/59 they were still very relevant.

Please see www.newi.ac.uk/englishresources/workunits/ks4/fiction/taste honey.html

Is this enough to perhaps give you a start?
