Perhaps you are being too critical. One man's meat is another's poison.

You could try enrolling in an art class at your local college where they will teach you to draw things as you see them.

But I believe in free expression in art and so long as you are trying then you will achieve something worthwhile.
Love yourself and have a passion for your subject. Nothing else matters unless you are intending knocking out material for the auction rooms. That's a whole different ballgame that involves loving yourself, having a passion for your subject and having a very good agent.
Really.
On a lighter note -you could become a 'modern artist"-who throws paint on the canvas, wipes it with a cloth and sells the cloth!
If you are serious about wanting to improve your drawing skills then a class which will teach you how to use measuring, (the old pencil in the air trick etc), working out angles and perspective will help you. And of course, lots of practise. And you can go on loving yourself and your free expression as well, naturally!
