Could someone tell me how to make orange peel boxes?
I only know it's a typical California handicraft....

I think you cut the orange and neatly remove the innards, then put the peel around some kind of mold like a wooden block and maybe bind it with cloth or something - as it dries it takes the shape of the mold....

That box on the Grand Illusions site doesn't look to me like it's made out of orange peel at all.If you look closely you can see a woven pattern.
And...come on Carol, do you really want to waste time evisceratung oranges, drying them, binding them, moulding them? Just eat and enjoy the orange...and use a margarine tub as a box.
