They are both the products of a popular work of fiction?
Here's a serious answer: There's been a lot of criticism of Harry Potter by the Catholic Church, saying that it promotes witchcraft and/or satanism and is therefore corrupting children. I'd say those critics are worrying over nothing, personally. There's a list of links to further information at http://directory.google.com/Top/Arts/Literature/Ch

would also say that the catholic church accusing anything else of corrupting children is a bit rich. Probably worried about the competition.
The only connection I see is that Harry and the people at Hogwarts celebrate Christmas. (What about Hanukah)
Honaka is a jewish holiday
this is really ridiculous, first of all yes a lot of catholic critics are saying that the harry potter books, movies, etc are promoting witchcraft and corrupting the minds of kids, they also say that its of the devil, many of them say that, but not all. and also catholosism is not based on fiction.
Being a Catholic I do not think Harry Potter is promoting witchcraft. But we must be careful and not let it corrupt us, by wishing we were magic.
As a Catholic (and a mad Harry Potter fan who looks like Hermione). I believe that all gifts are God given so if Harry is a wizard then God has made him that way. It is up to people to usetheir gifts for Good or Bad - something that the HP books are all about. The power of healing is not usually considered witchcraft so not all "magic" is bad.
