Oedipus

If i was going to put on a production of oedipus, what would be the minimum amount of characters needed (using my own script, just using the basic plot), i know there would have to be three at least but im not that familiar with the story, how many more are there (other than oedipus himself, his mother and his father)?

Just in case you don't get an answer: I don't know, but could you not use Greek-style masks (the same actor could play multiple roles) and/or a chorus to cut down on cast members?
