Any James Patterson, Michael Collins, Lee Childs.
Anything by John Connolly
Harlen Coben, Lee Childs, or Boris Starling
Any of the Rebus books are worth reading.
Tom Bradby, Peter Robinson, Harlen Coben, Lee Child, Reginald Hill.
Lee Child is winning....but I have a soft spot for Harlen Coben as Win is one of the best characters ever created
I am reading the crying tree at present and it would make a brilliant gift.
I haven't read any Harlen Coben yet rowan but I've heard he's really good.
Good tight plotting..appealing characters...odd touches of mayhem (mostly Win is involved in anything nasty) not mega gory but easy to find in charity shops...the leading character is Myron Bolitar he's pretty good too
I like Harlen Coben and John Connelly with his Bosch character.
The Charity Shop here I come!
patricia cornwell highly recommended. both me and himself really enjoy her books.
Dan Brown - The Lost Symbol
Thanks funnygirl I've been racking my brain for the Harry Bosch writer. John Connelly is good.
Depends on his taste, really. My husband likes to read all my Jim Kelly crime novels, if he likes that sort of thing.

There's Dan Brown or Dean Koontz, if his tastes aren't especially literary.

And there's a Victorian one I read, 'The Minutes of the Lazarus Club' (sorry, can't remember the author just now). It features various 'real' historical 'thinkers' and a plot to steal an invention and start a war.

Or what about 'The 39 Steps'? Classic, old, but still good.
I'll pitch in with Lee Child as well.

You can read them out of order - they are specifically written that way - but by coincidence i started with the first - 'Killing Floor' and read in order as they were published.

It's just minor details in Reacher's life background that occur in order, so no big deal, but i just like following the development of the character.
Funnygirl - I think you're mixing up John Connelly and Michael Connelly. The latter is the creator of Harry Bosch. One of my favourites.
Just finished the Millenium Trilogy by Stieg Larsson. A very good read !! The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo is the first
You could do worse than Jeffrey Deaver too....Start with The Bone Collector....it was made into a film with Denzil Washington
Lee Child for me............I'm in the middle of a ginormous Stephen King at the mo....
