Hello! I'm doing a fair in a few weeks and was going to *attempt* to sell some of my photos!
BUT before I go ahead and order a batch, I just wanted to see what the public would actually prefer, size-wise? The images are all square format and it would seem the most popular sizes that sell are 5x5 and 8x8.

Would you be after one of the above size choices? or something different?

Thank you! :)

Hate small images. Get em blown up as this will attract people from a distance. Why not then take orders for smaller sizes?
who not have both? Gives people the option. As Count says, the bigger size will be useful in attracting their attention.

It may also depend on what they actually look like; some things are better small, some not.
PS does square sell? I'd be more inclined to buy something in the traditional landscape/portrait formats, but maybe that's just me.

Anyway, I'd suggest getting a few printed bigger still, maybe 12x12, for the purpose of being seen.
12 x 12 are about the optimum size i think. much smaller than that and photos particularly would lose the detail. too big and people would think twice about buying them i believe, although they would attract attention to your work.
most of my canvases are square, i think they work much better and are more for todays market although it's true that it does depend on the subject matter.
Google for 'photo size viewing distance' and browse through the links. Might help you to decide.
