I couldn't read Epud on Kindle or on the PC which caused me to look into it . I expect it depends on which applications you have. There are about a dozen other formats and Calibre can convert them to whatever you are using or read them directly itself . There are other converters like Adobe Editions but on Google calibre seems to be the favourite.
Kindle - the device and the app/software, doesn't support Epub format, period. I've heard about Calibre as a file converter and plan to try it once the Kindle's here and running. Give me a heads up in a couple of weeks and I'll let you know.

I've now tried it out and I can read epub in Calibre or convert to Kindle .
