He is the Poet Laureate, so he should be good.  With poetry, as with many other things, there is not really any good or bad.  Styles are all different.  The best thing to do is to be thankful for the chance to meet such a distinguished person, give him a fair hearing, and decide whether his style suits you.
He was at the Library and Information Show last year and was exactly as I expected. There's nothing better than hearing a poet read his or her own work as they know where to put the stresses, pauses, breaths etc, and usually read with the emotion that they used to write the piece. You have a very lucky library.
If he's as 'good' as his poetry I wouldn't bother going.
Silly Moo must really be a silly moo!  Andrew Motion is a wonderful poet (nearly as amazing as Ted Hughes his predecessor as Laureate). It would be a shame to miss him!
He's actually renound for impressive public speaking and many believe that this is why he was appointed the title of poet laureate rather than principally because of his poetry. He's coming to talk to my school in April!!! x
