The Second Coming
W B Yeats

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

Algy met a bear.
The bear met Algy.
The bear was bulgy.
The bulge was Algy.
Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear.
Fuzzy Wuzzy had no hair.
Fuzzy Wuzzy wasn't fuzzy, wuz ee?
There are holes in the sky
Where the rain comes in.
The holes are small
That's why rain is thin.
Haha, like that one SB!!!
Spike Milligan I think Naz?
And that one too Nazzy.

As you can see, i like short funny poems- can't be doing with the long drawn out arty farty ones.
There was a young man from Nantucket
Who went on holiday to Phuket
...
Pigeon, pigeon, flying high,
Dropped a message from the sky.
It made me think, as I wiped my eye.
It's just as well that cows can't fly.
Yes, SB ... Spike Roolz.
I must go down to the sea again,
to the lonely sea and the sky;
I left my shoes and socks there -
I wonder if they're dry?
Hi Ed

I have just tried to post the text of this poem

'Krwelti Tw Children'

Because of its form about 95% of the words are faulted by the spell-checker. The submit button is disabled; is this a feature of AB?
Something funny happened last time I tried this

here is one of my favourites

The Elephant is a bonny bird
It fllits from bough to bough
It makes it's nest in a rhubarb tree
and whistles like a cow
This is one of his better ones, I think.

'Is my team ploughing

by A.E. Housman

‘Is my team ploughing,
That I was used to drive
And hear the harness jingle
When I was man alive?’

Ay, the horses trample,
The harness jingles now;
No change though you lie under
The land you used to plough.

‘Is football playing
Along the river shore,
With lads to chase the leather,
Now I stand up no more?’

Ay, the ball is flying,
The lads play heart and soul;
The goal stands up, the keeper
Stands up to keep the goal.

‘Is my girl happy,
That I thought hard to leave,
And has she tired of weeping
As she lies down at eve?’

Ay, she lies down lightly,
She lies not down to weep:
Your girl is well contented.
Be still, my lad, and sleep.

‘Is my friend hearty,
Now I am thin and pine,
And has he found to sleep in
A better bed than mine?’

Yes, lad, I lie easy,
I lie as lads would choose;
I cheer a dead man’s sweetheart,
Never ask me whose.

I'm laughing so much over these poems, well most of them, some are quite sad. I don't know any myself but would like to thank everyone for making me laugh.
Haiku For Cat Owners (with apologies to Masaoka Shiki)

You're always typing.
Well, let's see you ignore my
sitting on your hands.

Terrible battle.
I fought for hours. Come and see!
What's a 'term paper'?

Oh no! Big One
has been trapped by newspaper!
Cat to the rescue!

We're almost equals
I purr to show I love you
Want to smell my butt?

Lastly:

The rule for today
Touch my tail, I shred your hand
New rule tomorrow
It was on the bridge at midnight,
All alone stood little Meg,
A cry!
A splash!
My God, she's done it!
Nah, it's just her wooden leg.
Mary had a little lamb
She also had a bear
I've often seen herlittle lamb
but I've never seen her teddy
