I want to treat myself to some perfume can anyone suggest one Im not keen on anything to sweet my favourite is Chanel no 5 but like to keep that for special occasions tia
Perfume is so personal and varies in the 'smell' on diffrent people that it is almost impossible to make suggestions. You need to try out a few in the shop before deciding.
I can`t stand sweet either (Angel makes me retch). I love Sisley Eau de 1. No 3`s nice too. Narcisco Rodriguez is good (the silver one - Essence I think).
I agree with Jemisa Clinique Aromatic Elixir. It seems to suit all types of skin and stays around for many hours. I have used it for years and my Family call it my trade mark .
Jem I would like something I can wear for both day and night thanks for all your suggestions there are some there I will sample I would like a perfume that lasts a good few hours they never seem to last long on me
I used to work in a perfume shop and we had a special book that we used to help people find a perfume that was similar to the one they already used but were slightly different, i got to keep 1 of them and ill try and find it out later to help you, its brilliant
Fruit i managed to find the book right at the bottom of a chest of drawers i have but all the one in the same catagory as chanel no5 are very old and i think alot are discontinued now but here are the ones next to it which are still pretty similar, but these a citrus/fruity based nina by nin ricci again most are discontinued or rather obsure i think youd have alot of trouble
finding them in the first place, here are some other from the same catagory but more rich/bouquet based, alien by thierry mugler, arpege by lanvin, climat by lancome, dolce and gabbana by dolce and gabbana, lacoste pour femme by lacoste, magie by lancome sorry theres such a big list but i hope it helps, if you want to go abit furthur away from no5 ive got a whole book full of help here
thank you jj will give me plenty to go on when I go into perfume shop the problem is when you are in there you are smelling so many different smells they all sort of merge into one thenry great idea I like brut a mans aftershave might be the way to go
like i said before i used to work in a perfume shop and we used to keep coffee beans in a cup so people could clear there nose. normally most people can only take up 3-4 smells before they start merging, may be a case of taking 3 sample cards away with you and seeing if you like any and popping back to try it on, also get them to spray it on the inside of your elbows, the skins better there you can get a truer smell if you understand me? and never rub perfume when your trying it or putting it on it bruises the fragrance and can change it.
