Do you think hair should be shorter after a certain age I personally don't if long hair suits them and is in good condition then why not keep it long I would just like others opinions on this subject
Its an old saying that women should keep their hair short over 40/50 but I know loads of women on tv that have long hair over that age that look fantastic. Some face shapes just don't suit short hair.
i'm over 50! hair on waist, I keep it colored at the roots only, its fab, my crowning glory I cant imagine getting it cut yet....besides it gets me many compliments from the men..why change.
Long hair on any age is great -you can put it up, tie it back, let it all hang out -does not matter what age you are! last week I saw a lady with thick grey waist length hair and she looked totally fab -much better that the masculine looking cuts some women get after a certain age (and I'm well over 50)
lol true sibo..............the daughter got her mobile hairdresser friend to come and crop it all off as the way I was feeling I couldn't cope with it. Glad I had it done now, although the hairdresser was slightly shocked.
I'm over 50 and my hair is longer at the moment than it's been for years, I suppose you'd call it medium length. I like it but it takes some drying which is uncomfortable with tennis elbow! I can't make up my mind whether to have it cut short but my hairdresser's always reluctant.
That was a brave step craft.
lol the daughter says my hair grows like weeds so if I go off it ,it will soon be quite long again. It used to be a trial to wash and dry though...........
I don't think women "should" or "shouldn't" do anything. For much of my life I had waist length hair but its like keeping a pet. I just got fed up with it and had it all cut off...I reckon I gained about 2 days a month in time saved by not doing stuff to my hair.
Personally, I think that any hairstyle that makes a woman look younger from behind is not flattering - a bit like pigtails on a pensioner, if you will. However, if you are 75 years old and love your long hair, then wear it with pride. I just prefer mine short.
