Pulling (gently) at the eyelash at the site of the inflammation can help.
Use a used cooled tea bag on the inflammation or a warm wash cloth (this should help draw the inflammation out).
Don't squeeze it
Don't wear any eye make-up
Use clean towels and don't share them as the infection can be passed on
And there is also the old school theory rub a gold ring on it - some say it works - may be worth a try.
Good Luck.

Cool teabags are quite good for refreshing the eyes, but you would be better to go to your pharmisist and get something! There use to be an eye ointment called somthing like Golden eye cream, but the chemist will have something good get it sorted before it gets worse. Styes are often a sign of being run down. Make sure your diet is good with your 5 a day and loads of water. Often as winter comes we drink less but our skin still has to put up with the dehydrating effects of central heating and harsh weather conditions, this will also effect our eyes. Take care!
