Probably a stupid question but it says on the leaflet for this cream that brown age spots are caused by pockets of melanin in the skin and the product helps disperse them so reducing the apperance (or something like that). If I use it will it damage my freckles? :)

Freckles or ephelides as they are less commonly known are, in all intents and purposes, pockets of melanin. The product you are referring to is designed to work on 'brown spots' or 'senile lentigo' , which is caused primarily by sundamaged skin ...as are freckles! It will lessen the brown age spot and could technically lessen the intensity of your freckles. However, you freckles have been there since you were very young and are far more 'deep rooted' than the age spots, so the effect would be minimal.
These creams, although good in theory, take a long time to work and are a real committment. If you forget to use it, or go out into the sun without total sunblock, the age spots will rapidly reappear!
I trust that when you said "damage my freckles," you meant lessen them?
