Iam going on holiday abroad in August but iam naturally pale and never tan but i cant face being a milk bottle colour in a bikini on the beach etc. Whats the best thing to do - have a spray tan before i go or use fake tan myself to apply all over (though iam not very good at it) or use one of those daily moisturisers?? Can anyone recommend the best self tanners for ease of use etc??? Please help!!

I preferred using this simply because if I went to work pale one day and came in the next day really tanned, it would be very obvious. Of course if you're going on holiday it probably doesn't matter as much, but a really decent fake tan could be quite expensive (and humiliating! Paper thongs.... toplessness.....).
I think the moisturisers are easier for me as well because I can't really make a mistake. However, they can fade a little bit patchily, but it's nothing too obvious. And I have a really visible watch strap mark where my wrist was sweating and all of the tanner from the moisturiser came off. But still thats my two cents, it's all a matter of taste really...

Be careful whatever you do though, some fake tans can react with the sun and turn a really strange mustard yellow colour!
The easiest one to use is the Fake Bake one, you dont have to worry about rubbing it in evenly, as it is (almost) impossible to streak. Put it on before going to bed and let it dry a bit before getting into bed.
It is also a fantastic colour - wee bit more expensive but well worth it!

I am a fellow milk bottle and use Johnson's holiday skin for pale skin everyday. It is a really good moisturiser but also gaves you a lovely light tan which looks really natural. You will need about three applications to really see a difference, but if you use it daily like a normal moisturiser you need never worry about taning again. Just make sute you also use a high factor sunscreen or you will undo all the damage with a nice burn. mmmmmmmmm
I have the problem that my legs never tan no matter how much sun they get! Just on my legs I use Dove summer glow body lotion. It leaves my legs feeling soft smooth and, like with the Johnssons one, it builds up a gradual natural tan. I use fair to normal skin, and it's not obvious when I use it as it is subtle. Try using one of these first and see how you get on with it, As your holiday is in August, you have time to try and if they don't work for you, get a salon tan before you go.
