Hi - I'm an aromatherapist and since I have been massaging I have grown really long strong nails! Typical, as I have to cut them short to massage people! Anyway I think it must be the combination of the oils and the pressure movements on my fingers. You could try this. Get some oil, any oil but olive is nice and rich (its great for your hair too) put a little in an egg cup, then when you're sitting watching Corrie or something, dip your thumb into the oil and use it to massage each finger in turn, pushing your cuticles back at the same time. The oil will actually feed the nail with vitamins and help to make it less brittle too. If you have any lavender essential oil in the house add a couple of drops of that too (only about 3 drops). Lavender is great for cell renewal and will also help to bring down stress levels and aids sleep.
