Gel vs Acrylic Nails

What is the difference between gel and acrylic nails

they are very much similar im doing a home learning course in acrylic nails diploma and in my course it says only reall difference is that gel is a ready mixed product which u just apply and u need uv light to set them where as acrylic is a liquid and a powder you have to mix together and that sets just naturally with the warmth of your fingers and gels are much harder to maintain and get off
