good foundation

Has anyone got any suggestions on a good foundation? I want something that will give my skin a nice shine or dewy look without looking greasy..... Most I have tried leave my skin dry and powdery and it makes me look tired!!!!!!!!! I want something with full coverage and that lasts all day as I work long hours... Am i asking the impossible?

I really like estee lauder double wear. It isn't too heavy and lasts all day. If you don't use a powder with it I think you'd get a nice shine (I like a matte finish).

Good thing is there are lots of shades so you get an excellent colour match. And if you go to a counter they'll colour match you and give you a tiny bottle with some of it in -you don't need much as a little goes a long way, it lasts about a fortnight so you can see how you get on with it.

Lancome do good foundations too.

go to a large department store & try a few out. ask for some samples to try at home.

The one I am using at the minute is the mineral one from MAC, it is very light and dewy. Also because it is mineral, it is better for your skin than other foundations but it doesn't make your skin greasy!

I use a lovely foundation from Prescriptives. If you go to the counter, the person there matches one for your skin. Its lovely. Oh and apply it with a foundation brush and it lasts for ages

I have the same problem. All the good counters at the main stores are in shopping malls. Artificial light. You buy the stuff, when you get home, the colour doesn' t look right. Not many are willing to give you a sample to try in your own home. Texture, colour & coverage are all important.

Hiya, 6758, have you tried Virgin Vie "One step face base"? It's a foundation & powder in one & comes in about 6 different shades. I had the same problem as you, but since I've been using that, I don't get too much shine, or the tired look. I think it costs about �16 initially, cos you get a compact with it, but you can then buy refills.

its oil free and gives a fresh dewy look and lass all day
