Nails

Hi,

Me and a friend have decided to treat ourselves and get our nails done - think we like the look of french polished gel nails which another friend recently had done. Fairly natural, but very classy.

We live in Manchester/Salford - can anyone recommend a good salon? Thanks!

haha! They look lovely when they are on but 4 months after i had mine off and my nails are in an awful state!

If they are done properly they don't damage the underlying nail,any detrimental effect on the natural nail is down to the lack of skill of the technician who applied them.

I dont know if there any good but I knew 2 girls who went to the manchester arndale market to get there nails done. I just like walking past because I like the smell

It varies from area to are. I pay around �35 to have the gel nails(I live in a North West village) Make sure you go to a reputable salon,if you can't find any then try asking someone who you see with nice nails where they had theirs done,they will happily tell you in most cases.

,To go off on a tangent......are French Pedicures popular there too? Here in the US it is very big. I have it for the summer and think it looks cute. No gel or anything on toes, just polished that way.

people pay that money to get gel nails? i dont understand that amount of money for false nails that last coupla weeks, granted it looks nice, but heard loads of horror stories

i used to work in an office where the lassies had fake nails, fake hair, n padded bras, dont know what they really looked like if u know what i mean

I only have my nails done for special occasions weeal,I couldn't afford that every couple of weeks.lol. I do know what you mean about not knowing what people really look like though. I have a friend who we call the oompa loompa because she uses so much fake tan she is orange,she also has padded bras wears loads of make up,false lashes,padded bras,bum lifting knickers etc. She knows we laugh about it but doesn't care as its all done light heartedly,she takes the mickey out of us all too.

I have biosculpture nails done, its like a permanent nail polish that goes over your natural nails & they are protein based so your nails underneath get really strong. They cost me �25 & they know they do them in Selfridges in Manchester not sure of the cost but no they are quite expensive
