Do you think these women look go0d?
This advert really winds me up. These women are absolutely skeletal! No curves, no chest etc. Most men I know don't find women like this attractive, most women I know would like to be a bit skinnier but wouldn't want to look like this - so why do designers use these massively underweight and malnourished models?

I think promoting this look as "beauty" is disgusting.

It's just a matter of taste I suppose. I have a friend who is naturally very thin (she eats normally, healthily but does not diet) and I feel so sorry for her when people call thin people unattractive because of their body shape.
It must be very upsetting to hear your natural body shape being called unattractive and disgusting, yet it seems much more acceptable to say this now than to say the same kind of things about overweight people

I dont dislike thin people! My issue is with the fashion industry making young girls believe they need to be a size 0. Absolutely fine if that is your natural shape, but so many young women are starving themselves and surviving on coffee and fags in order to be thin. I just wish they would use a broader range of models so it would be perceived that it is ok to have some curves.
I'm classed as slim at best, skinny at the worst, but it's a natural thing which runs in the family. I'm 5ft. 7ins and weigh about 8st. 5lbs. Usually a size 10.
By some peoples' standards, that's not very attractive, but I'm far from being straight up and down. If I was a UK size 4 or 6, then I'd say that was way too low, and a lot of fashion models fall into this category.

Yes, I agree with Petal & Bigmamma. To be compared to someone with anorexia isn't funny - merely because it's a very serious illness.
I'd also defy anyone to say I haven't got curves, slim as I am. I bet Petal could prove some as well. I'm certainly not knocking larger ladies, but it always seems to be those, who reckon us slimmer ones aren't "real women". I'm quite happy to be me, but think I'm maybe a bit top-heavy. Before having the children, I was a 34C, but've now gone up to a 36C. Is that thin then?!! I'd never get a job like those malnourished models which Meglet referred to, and wouldn't really want to.

Im the same as other posters, Im 5ft 10, and although I know weigh just below 9 stone, up until a year ago I was 7.5 stone, My sister is around the same weight as me, and she is 6ft 1!
It runs in our family, we get the tall bit from dad, the skinny bit from mum!
Ive had all types of comments about eating more, being too skinny, looking ill, yet if I was to turn to an overweight person and tell them to eat less, i'd be shot down so quickly!
I'm a big fan of programmes like Americas next top model, and I find watching them, the women who are classed as larger models on there are in my eyes, not large at all!
I dont think its fair to say all slim/skinny people are malnourished & disgusting, and it is very insulting!
And we dont all spend our time heaving over a toilet or refusing food!

I really like skinny girls, I think they're beautiful and fascinating. Whether they are naturally that way or not, that is what I think is nice.
I will never be that skinny because I eat like a horse, but I am very slim.
My exboyfriend LOVED super-skinny girls, he liked how petite and slight they were. Ain't nothing wrong with that.
