Good Foundation
I've used Max Factor for years but no matter what colour I get my face always a bit TOO doneup and almost orange.
.I'm fed up of wasting money on foundation only to get it home and see that it looks horrible.
Can anyone recommend a decent one?
I can't afford Clinique stuff, I'm after something for less than 15 really that gives good coverage as I have a few scars on my cheeks.

Other than that, visit the desks in boots or debenhams asking them for some samples, take them home and try each one in your own home or outside. You may have to take your own pots with you, i was told to by the YSL desk.
Or you could just ask them to put some on you on the desks and after a couple of hours wear you should know whether you like it or not?

I was foreve on a mission to find the pefect foundation, and thought I had cracked it with a Neutrogena one which was fantastic. Only to discover 6 months later that they'd stopped making it. So the search continued... I have now found that a Bourgeois one is just as great, think it's something about 10-hours or something...? Its around 8.00 and comes in what looks like a tiny pump bottle. However I'm still on my first one after 4 months. I use it every day without fail, sometimes twice a day. Its really light, so doesnt go cakey, ut covers all flaws perfectly (I have faint acne scars which are no problem with this one).
Good luck in your hunt!

Having been addicted to expensive foundations for years I recently tried Max Factor Miracle Touch and have converted. It doesn't look like it's going to give you much coverage but it does - it's in a solid compact and goes on like a liquid (if that makes sense!). I have red cheeks and it totally evens out my skin without looking like I'm wearing loads of makeup.
Your mum is right Suzieb. I recently went to Boots to get a matched foundation. The first time in a couple of years. I always use Max Factor. But products change and new ones launched. You should find out what is best for the age of your skin and its type. An experienced consultant in Boots should ensure you leave with a foundation which does you justice.
Dont forget that a foundation chosen in winter may not suit when summer arrives and you start to tan and vice versa.

As you get older your skin colour changes anyway, so you can't stick to the same one.
Go to Debenhams or somewhere similar, choose a counter and get them to test them on you - always good to do at about 5pm on a Saturday, then keep your face protected enought to go out on the town with your professional make-over!!
I personally use Channel. Its about 25 a pot, but goes a long way - you only need to use a little. When you go to have your testing done you usually get a load of freebies too!
