my dad used to cut my hair and when I was 11 and started senior school he cut it so short you can emagine the reaction I got from the other girls, it still makes me feel scared to even think about it even now fifty years later. needless to say I never let him cut my hair again
My mom used to cut my hair until I was 10 or so.

Your answer is very interesting tinkertomtom thankyou. I was wondering though what kind of style did he cut it to was it like a bob haircut or worse like a boys short back and sides. Was it just cut with clippers or scissors or both perhaps. I had a few home haircuts myself about that age from dad with clippers and hated it often was done the night before school started . Would love to email you.
my dad used to cut mine and my sisters hair always with a huge fringe that starts from the crown lol now i cut my daughters hair but i am a trained hairdresser so i think its ok she has no huge fringe x
Sorry bit of a late answer.
H cuts my hair because I like it short, just easier to manage that way. He isn't a trained barber but he does a really good with mine. My sister in law also has her hair cut by hubby whos not a barber.
My niece cuts her own.
