Its a bit sore but great as the hair stays away for a few weeks. I would opt for a wax over shaving any day despite the pain lol!
There is a normal bikini wax which is just for the edges, a brazilian which leaves a broad central strip but all else is removed and a hollywood where everything is removed
You can leave your underwear on and just pull/hold it to one side. The girl I see puts me at ease. Don't go the week before or after your period as your threshold for pain isn't at its highest then!
Once you're in there getting it done you can't really leave half way through as you'd look daft with one half done so you just have to stick the pain 20 mins max does it!
u can also have a 'sicilian' which is a small triangle left and the rest taken away.. i personally prefer this as i wouldnt wanna look little a little girl with the hollywood!
I was terrified when I went for my first appointment to have it ALL off and it was very, very painful.
When I had it done the second time, with a different waxer, who was obviously better at her job, it was still painful, but not as bad, as she made me hold the skin taut, before pulling the strips off.
They say it gets less painful over time, as the hair becomes a little less coarse and the roots are not are resistant. I really enjoy the clean free feeling.
I could never go back to having any fluffy bits down there.
And like velvetee says, it hurts less and less each time.
Oh, and don't try the "pull your knickers to one side" thing. It's just awkward, and you'll end up with wax all over your pants. If someone is going to fiddle around with your bits, there's no point being shy about it. Just whip 'em off and let your beautician get on with it.
shaving leaves stubble and the stubble is itchy and catches on underwear. Waxing, hair grows through softer and takes longer. I go about 6 to 8 weeks between treatments. A good beautician will get you to help her with holding the skin taut and thus reducing the 'pain'. I do not find it painful at all and now after 15 years of waxing I have very little left to remove. The hair has become so weak it can barely be bothered to grow. I do still have the landing strip down the middle though as I could not bear to be completely naked. My advice, go for it.
I have been sugared rather than waxed for 18 years. and have not possessed a razor in all that time! eyebrows, underarms everywhere. 1 thing i must say though (as i know lots of girls that have been caught out in this way) dont just go for a 1 off when you are going on holiday or for a special occassion as i KNOW you will be disappointed. hairs all grow at different rates and each hair has its own cycle. until you.ve been regularly a few times it probably wont last hair free for a whole holiday as there will be some just under the skin waiting to come thru in a day or 2. hope this makes sense! but do go for it.
I have shaved mine all off for the past few years now. My ex bf said he preferred it. When I first done it though I felt really bare and like my womanliness had gone but now i do prefer it cus it feels more hygienic and fresh. I think I would just like to try waxing because I want it to be smoother - its too stubbly and itchy with a razor.
I wouldn't ming a tiny patch of hair I suppose I don't know whether to have a hollywood or a triangle or a landing strip thing now lol
pretty much the same but instead of using wax its like a ball of sweet sticky treacle. my beautician does it 'by hand' which means no strips or anything. look at www.sukar.co.uk - let me know what you think compared to waxing
never been waxed so cant compare. my hairs now are very fine and weak. she has this ball of sugar paste in her hand and runs itover hairs leaving a line of it on my skin then kinda flicks it up and when it comes off it takes hairs with it. ripping them out so the idea is much the same.
