shampoos and conditioners

Are products purchased from the hairdressers really that much better than the ones in the supermarket? If so can anyone recommend any decent products for dryish hair.

I've been using the Aussie stuff recently and it's really nice. Their 3 Minute Miracle conditioner leaves hair really soft. I talked to my hairdresser the other day and he said that shampoo and conditioner is really thick if it's good quality. The Aussie shampoo is really thick.

Buy TiGi luxury conditioner from your salon or L'Oreal.....these products are only available thru wholesalers for the trade. They are regularly used in salons as tried/tested and awarded by trade professionals.

My hairdresser told me to spend my money on conditioner and to buy basic shampoo.

Aveda products are the best I've come across and if you buy the huge tubs it works out quite cheap but it's lots to pay all at once.

My hair is badly damaged due to too much straightening and although I have used salon exclusive products for a while now (I definitely find a significant difference between them and shop bought ones), I personally like Schwarzkopf and have found that their Cashmere range for 'Stressed hair' is proving to be excellent for my damaged hair and the difference is obvious already! They do a shampoo, conditioner, a deep conditioning treatment and a serum.

You may find that the prices are a lot higher than shop bought products but because you are able to use so much less of the products, they actually work out to be similar in price really!

As a hairdresser myself I would say there is not a great deal between them apart from the obvious cost. However I will agree with another post, the 3 Min Aussie Miracle is excellent, as is the VO5 range.

With regards to Professional ranges, Kerastase is ok and also Wella Lifetex.
