juvederm

I'm thinking of having juvederm treatment on my nose to mouth lines. Has anyone had it done? Was it successful? Are there any risks of it going wrong like 'pout trout' effect when people have lips done?
My daughter is getting married mid April so when would be the best time to have it done?
Thanks in advance

There aren't any risks as most cosmetic fillers are based on Hyaluronic acid, which is naturally found in the body. The main thing is, you should only use a qualified person, with medical training to do this.
Fillers last anything from 3 to 9 months, but it depends on the individual. Providing you know your surgeon's competency, you could have it done a week or two before the wedding. This will give the skin time to recover from any swelling and also the neddle prick marks.
If it's not applied evenly and massaged, then it may look bad. I used a Cosmetic Surgeon, who I've used for years and has carried out other procedures on me.

Thanks, Velvetee
I'd love to have it done - and look years younger - but I'm bit of a scaredy cat. There's a local surgeon recommended from the juvederm website so might have a consultation with him. How many phials does the procedure generally use because that has a bearing on the cost?
Thanks again

What area do you live Kathy?
My surgeon used one phial on me, infact he didn't even use up the whole phial. It really depends on the severity and depth of the lines being treated. Mine weren't too bad.
I have to admit, the procedure was quite painful, even though the area was numbed forst, with a Local Anaesethic.

Sorry, I don't know of any Surgeons there, as I'm in London.
If you go through a clinic, then always check the surgeon is BAAPS (British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons) registered. You can check on the following site. Also, don't be afraid to ask any surgeon about the number of Juvederm procedures he's done and ask to see before and after photos.
On the BAAPS website, you can also find listings of their members in your area.
