I had mine permanently straightened,all my hair snapped off about 2 inches from the root and I had to have it cut into the most awful style until it grew again.
If you go ahead with this make sure you go to a reputable salon with experience in the process!

I didn't have the Yuko treatment but was assured that the product they used was just as good.They lied :(
I didn't sue and even had to pay them for what they did to me,they also tried to charge me to cut it afterwards but I went elswhere instead.

I know the Yuko method.....and all relaxed hair will break off without proper after care. It needs professional deep conditioning weekly in a salon, under a climazone.

Afro hair is not as strong as the others; so needs gentler but more frequent application. It take at least 4hrs to process depending on the stylist.

Tamborine,my hair didn't break a week or whatever later,it broke there and then whilst having the straightening treatment.
