Matching manicure to pedicure?

Hi, Should your nail varnish match? Last year I was told it was old fashioned to have your manicure colour the same as your pedicure (it was ok to have the same hue but definitely not the same shade) - what is the trend now?

I'm not sure what the 'trend' is but personally I think it looks tacky to have your toe nails one colour and your finger nails another. Especially if you have a bright colour on your toes and then something totally different on your fingers.

However that said, I'm not a big fan of nail varnish on my finger nails at all. So while my toe nails are usually painted, my finger nails are either completely natural or I have a french manicure look if I 'm going out. I just think it looks fresher. (It's similar to the rule about eye make up and lip make up).

I've heard that as well but don't know why it would be such a crime! Just do what you think looks nice!

i am not sure what is right or wrong but I hate not having colour on my toe nails so always have a strong colour on there but normally always just have clear on my finger nails. I occasionally feel like putting colour on my finger nails so on those occassions would put the same strong colours on my toes and fingers.
