What powder do I use on my face?
10 Answers
Hello I am a complete makeup beginner. I have got a good matt foundation which seems ok it 's slightly paler that my skin tone ever so.
I had a makeup lady do my makeup and bbc last year I had my matt foundation on but then she came along with like a powder and a big brush and went all over ...end result very good. She seemed to use the same powder on everyone so I dont think it is the case she matched it perfectly to my skin, it just seemed to magically blend on my tone.
I have bought powders before to brush on but they were never the right tone and/or they sat badly showing usually tiny facial hair badly.
Can anyone advise me please what i need I have pale skin, greasy after a few hours, a few spots, quite a blushed left cheak due to spots under the skin. I think my matt foundation is by max factor.
Thanks in advance

It has a base moisturiser than evens out your skin, then you apply the foundation. If you use that then a skin brightener ( I've been using Revlon Skinlights brightener) you'll find a big difference.
if she used this powder on every one it was more than likely a translucent which means u can use all the way through the year without haveing to buy a summer shade and a winter 1 it comes in loose which is gr8 for really oily skins but also any 1 can use for a softer look or u ca get pressed powder aswell maxfactor also do a loose translucent powder for £7.99 a fraction of the price of premium brands but still gr8 quality!!
I find powder makes skin look too dry, I just use a foundation - I have Clinique at the moment. it feels good too. I always seem to get a foundation that is too light for my skin however, so whenever I go to a makeup counter I make sure they give me the right one now. Have your face done by Mac or Clinique, you don't have to buy anything, but they will give you ideas. It is a minefield out there ! Sometimes by the way you will find that cheaper brands, e.g. Prestige eye pencil in Boots - the one that twists out rather than sharpens - and Rimmel lipstick are just as good, and cheaper. Barbara Daly at Tesco is good too.
