braun gas hot brush
12 Answers
I have relied on this brush for absolutely years and now it seems as though they have disappeared of the face of the earth. Does any one know what has happened to them and if I can still ger them anywhere? I'd buy half a dozen if I could track them down

Apparently lots of people have taken the contact details for Procter & Gamble to complain, according to one of the stores it was a top seller so they can'tunderstand the decision. I've googled P&G and found an email address and sent them a very cross message. If we all do it maybe they'll rethink. All you can get is straighteners - the VERY last thing I need is something to straighten my hair!Come on-let's all contact P&G and let them know how annoyed we are.
I'm absolutely disgusted about this and have taken your advice and have emailed them with the following complaint:
"Why have you discontinued the Braun hotbrush, an extremely popular best selling product and one that I have relied on for around 30 years. I have lost count of how many I have purchased and had purchased for me over the years. Each time one fails to work, after about 2 or 3 years, I've replaced with the same or similar model. Your competitiors just never got it right, and still don't, which is why I've remained loyal and recommended my friends, colleagues and relations do the same. My current model is now on its last legs and, despite the gas refills being readily available in all good shops everywhere, I can't find a replacement Braun cordless hotbrush anywhere. Why have you done this? My only option is to change to an extremely inferior brand that just won't deliver the same service that I've relied on for all of my adult years. Along with many others in the same situation as me, and not just in the UK, I am so disgusted at having to do this that I very much doubt I will ever purchase another Braun product and will encourage others to do likewise. If by any chance there are any left for purchase anywhere in the world, please advise me of their whereabouts and I'll buy enough to last me for the rest of my hair caring life."
If I get a response I will post it here to advise others in the same situation.

I've just spent an equally fruitless search until I found your post - the link provided in an earlier post no longer has any available and seems not be expecting any more to become available either :-( I too am absolutely disgusted and have followed your advice and sent P&G the following email using the 'contact us' section of their website:

I'll post any response I get here so that others will also know what's going on. In the meantime, would all others as hopping mad as me please take the time to contact P&G about this - it may work. But, if anyone knows of an alternative, albeit inferior product that uses the Braun gas refills please respond as I have a whole stack of them!

I too miss this product and have emailed Procter & Gamble, their reply was disappointing. I was told to seek an alternative and I got the impression that they were definitely not bringing the hot brush back. In desperation I got one from eBay, but I suspect it is only a matter of time before the refills are no longer available as why should Braun continue manufacturing them when they no longer manufacture the hot brush that uses them? The only alternative is by Babyliss and it is rubbish!! It's smaller than the Braun one and it is virtually impossible to get refills. Also, mine kept breaking down and wouldn't light on ocassion! I think Procter & Gamble have treated their loyal customers appallingly and I can only hope that if they get enough complaints, they will bring it back, but I'm not holding my breath! I'm really angry with them for such a total lack of customer care.
Boots chemist still sell the gas cartridges as I have bought some within the last year or so and you can also purchase them from Boots online.
I also have a Braun Independent - it's over 30yrs old and only started to have problems about a year ago with the ignition. My beloved fixed it but it stopped working again the other day. If my beloved can fix it again I shall be happy until I can find a replacement. I see you can buy a BaByliss cordless gas hot brush but I love my Braun and would love a new one (or two).

The company 'enRgy' who brought out replacement refills for the Braun gas styler a re now in the process of bringing out a new gas styler, which hopefully will be as good as the Braun - it certainly can't be any worse than the Babyliss (cos it's useless). Lets hope 'enRgy' are successful in their efforts :)
'EnRgy' who supply replacement cartridges for the Braun hot brush to Wilkinsons, Boots, Superdrug etc are bringing out a gas hot brush later this year. Thank goodness for 'enRgy' for paying attention to what we have been begging for - no thanks to Braun for ignoring us. I hope this new hot brush will be successful - the owner of 'enRgy' is aware of how useless all the others are so fingers crossed ladies :)
