Tongue Piercing
Can having your tongue pierced affect the way your taste buds work? I had mine done 5 days ago and yesterday I went to eat some of my favourite crisps (McCoys Thai Sweet Chicken) which normally I do not find spicy. But they seemed really spicy yesterday, and then for dinner I had pepper chicken which again is not particularly spicy, but my mouth felt like it was on fire! Could this be because of my piercing?

When I had mine done, yes it did effect the taste of things but only whilst it healed, I expect your tongue is still a little swollen.
I think your taste buds have had a bit of swelling to cope with, I think all will return to normal very soon. good luck :-)

There is always a load of negative feeling and comments about piercing and tattooing, we are all different, these tattoos and piercings are a very personal things, many people have such adornments that others will never see, they are not there for others to see. we all have our own personal reasons for what we have done to our bodies. I love the the whole body art scene, its fascinating, but most people will never understand why we do it. that is usually because they don't want too and its so easy to criticise.
