Bulgarian friend having cartilege problem. GP says replacement knee needed but too young to get it done now, has to wait another 9years. Is in the Care industry and on her feet all day. Changing job not an option because of limited English. Is there any kind of knee support that would help as leg is starting to curve. Many thanks
I used to have cartilage trouble but it eased off after a couple of years of taking painkillers.
Today in chemists I see elasticised support for knees, that I never found when I felt I needed it. No idea if they are of use. I used to tie crepe bandages around it and limp.
Depends..........what do you mean by cartilage problem.
If it is just a tear, then a support MAY be helpful, however, if the problem is that of joint degeneration bone and cartilage, then a knee support will be useless.
The difference would only be highlighted on X-Ray or MRI scan.
