Do any abers know the cost of going private for an endoscopy? My Mum has been waiting ages and fears that whatever she has is getting worse due to the long wait. Any info greatly appreciated thanks.

Ring the Private Hospital or the surgeons secretary and ask.

Probably at least £2000. When asking hospitals for a quote make sure they include all costs, not just the surgeon's fee.

I went to see a consultant privately 7 years ago. It was £150 just for the consultation.

Thanks to you all. If its £2000 I'm afraid she will have to wait for the NHS as she cannot possibly afford that. Squad, I do love you, and yours is the very obvious answer, but I just wanted to check with other abers in case anyone had actually had this done recently. That would save me wasting the hospitals time. xx
