How long to get blood test results from the GP? And who reviews them?

I had a blood test last Friday to test my thyroid function (just before the start of the bank holiday).
How long will it take for the test results to get back to my GP? It's a week later and no-one has yet called me which suggests that there's no problem, does it? (I have left it too late to call today and surgery is now closed for the weekend).
Also, the GP who requested the test only works Mondays and Wednesdays. Last Monday was Bank Holiday, so she wasn't in. not sure if the results would have been back with her by wednesday, so will my results be sitting on her desk waiting for her to review them when she's in on Monday, or will one of the other GPs do it for her in her absence?

Not sure if its protocol everywhere but round here the lab alert GP's directly if anything is urgent, also someone at the surgery reviews the results on receipt whether or not the ordering GP is there. If there is nothing urgent then your own GP will review and talk to you.

Should be back within 10-14days.
I would say the signs are good. Last september took my OH to hospital for blood tests on a Friday afternoon and doctor was on phone by 8.30 Monday morning. I think if they find anything untoward when processing them they rush them through. I am sure if there was anything urgent in yours they would be referred to another doctor who would either contact you or get receptionisht to telephone and make an appointment.
The last time I had blood tests, I phoned to see when they were in. The receptionist said she`s not allowed to give results over the phone so they printed them out for me and I just collected them myself. They were all normal but I wanted to see what the results were anyway.
