sorry to all you men out there before i start!:).. for the last few months i have been experiencing a pain in my right breast, its not there constantly, but every few minutes, maybe 20? i get a shooting pain through it, so bad that i end up having to put pressure on it to try and relieve it. i'm only 21, and on the implant so dont think it would tie in with being due on etc. can anyone think of anything that it may be? I have the doctors next week, thanks all xx

It could well be muscle pain from the muscles underlying the breast - but well done you for getting it investigated, let us know how you get on.
Almost certainly not associated with any form of malignancy.

Try and work out if it is cyclical related to your periods or mid period and if it is, then it could be hormonal or associated with your implant.

If it isn't cyclical then there are many causes , all innocent and non life threatening in nature and one that comes to mind in your age group and description is costochondritis......Google it.......and again not a serious condition.
Sorry roxie for not answering your question but I would like to take this opportunity to apologise to sqad. I was very rude to you on a thread about oesophagal cancer a couple of months ago and my only excuse is I am still so worried about my husband. There is so much rubbish on the internet when you try to find help that I was just drowning in it. I truly apologise sqad and it is not like me to be so rude but I was really concerned at the time and continue to be so as he is still having problems.
jan.....LOL....LOl........no need to apologise my darling, i quite understand. I am not the most sensitive of "blokes" on AB and i tend to be "in your face" much of the time.....but that is me......always has been and always will be.
Thanks again for the apology, but really, sometimes i just ask for it.
All the best to your husband.

Hi sqad, I do not tend to have cyclical periods on the implant, they happen very rarely. I've been to family planning already and asked if it's a side effect of the implant and they've advised me that it's not a known side effect and advised me to go to the doctors. I will keep you posted :D Thanks all xx
thanks roxie.

Hi Sqad, have just looked up costochondritis as you mentioned, was wondering would that cause pain in the breast? As when i get the pain it is most definately in the breast, just right of my nipple (it's in my left breast not my right one which is in a previous post) and it is always in the same place xx
roxie.......I am not saying that it is costochondritis, and it cold radiate to the centre of you breast at the area that you are describe.

Keep us informed.

Hi sqad, just an update on this, well dont know if i can really call it an update as the doctor did bu99er all. Just said they couldn't feel anything and if the pain persists then to go back. Even though i've had this pain for a good few months! Really doesn't put confidence in them at all! xx
roxie....thanks for the update....perhaps there was "bu99er all" to do ;-)

Pain killers would be of little use, as by the time they were active, the pain would have gone.

Monitor the situation and keep us informed.
