I just split up with my boyfriend and at the weekend got stupidly drunk and ended up fooling around with a friend of a friend. I regret it so much and I have only ever slept with my boyfriend before and I have never ever had a one night stand, cannot believe I was so stupid. Yesterday I woke up with quite inflamed lymph nodes on my neck and today they are even worse and I can make out some signs of pus on my tonsils so I reckon I have tonsillitis. Do you think this is a sign of an STD/I, I'm petrified! I am such an idiot! I've got a sexual health test booked for Friday but I can't sleep or eat I'm so worried. Has anyone got any advice or thoughts on what I may have?

NO.it is not an STD

It could be tonsillitis or more likely glandular fever.

Relax effer - you're panicking here, which is understandable cos you feel wretched and guilty. Well don't. Things happen and you obviously sound like the sort of girl who does not do this sort of thing regularly or wantonly.

Chances are it is tonsillitis or some glandular virus - especially if it was only last weekend all this happened.

Its good you're getting tested and seen on Friday - but please, until then calm down and don't get all worked up. xxxxxx

Thanks for all your answers, feeling slightly better and reassured! Will just have to wait until friday! Ladybirder, yeah I am on the pill and got the morning after pill so doubly sure i'm not pregnant, definitely couldn't cope with that atm!! Still can't believe how stupid I've been, I'm never drinking again!!!!
