Hip Pain
9 Answers
I've been getting a sporadic pain in my hip when I turn over in bed. It's excrutiating but short lived, and stops immediately after I hear like a pop. Almost as if hip bone is slotting into place. If I feel the pain start & can react quick enough, just bending my leg or lifting it slightly can prevent the explosion of pain.
Any ideas, please?

Thanks it may ell be an osteophyte (Bone overhang) in the hip joint and this is often associated with a degree of osteoarthrit is.
No big deal, but at you leisure, see you GP as an X-Ray may well be necessary.

No athlete I'm afraid. Overweight female, presently lost two stone and on the way down, so I know weight is probably a contributory factor.
Could it be related to another problem that I have? A couple years ago I was experiencing pain in my knees and found out that the muscle on the inside of my upper legs had never developed properly. So the outside muscles were pulling my knee caps outwards. The physio actually laughed at how weak my muscles were!
