Hi I am due a jab to top up levels of Vit B12 , will the effect be immediate or perhaps slow release ? When might the fatigue caused by the deficiency wear off ?

I am not sure that I understand your question.

I assume that you are being treated for Pernicious Anaemia and have been on B12(Neo Cytamen ) for some time.

Could you confirm this?

Hi sqad, yep that's it in a nutshell !
Well, if you have been on the injections for some time and your serum B12 levels and blood picture is normal, then i cannot see your fatigue, being due to your PA.

I suppose that when you get closer to your injection time, you feel the need and if that is the point that you are making, then you will feel better in you relf within 3or 5 days.

Have I miised your point?

Thanks sqad, spot on !
Not perhaps a real answer to your question, but it may be of interest to note on the packaging that most breakfast cereals contain B12; also Soya (milk alternative).
Coldicote.......flump has a condition whereby she cannot absorb B12, so you could stuff her cereal intake with B12 up to the ceiling, but she wouldn't be able to absorb a "crum" of B12.
