Am I worrying unnecessarily?

I got a new phone last week, and whilst I was exploring it yesterday, I got what felt like an electric shock going right up the arm that was holding the phone - this happened 4 times. I know that it's probably that I'd touched a nerve in my wrist or shoulder, but i put the phone away and tried to emulate the feeling, but I couldn't. Is there any chance that a mobile phone could harm you in this way?

Was the charger plugged into it the times it happened?

I tried to get the feeling again, sitting in exactly the same way and holding a notebook that was a similar weight and size, but nothing happened. I think that a trip to the shop may be called for. Thank you redcrx and cath.

No, the charger was not connected.
Did you try in the other hand?
I wouldn't have thought there was enough power in a phone battery to cause a shock.
