i have a mole on my back about the size of a 5pence piece. last week i noticed it was itchy and then discovered it was covered in a scab, because i messed with it it stared to bleed so i had to make a bandage out of cotton wool and sellotape as it was going through my clothes. do you think i need to see a doctor?i have had the mole for years and never had any problems. i went to lanzarote in November so was obviously exposed to the sun but i didn't burn. I have also used sunbeds about 4 times since returning from holiday. It has gone back to normal now but should i be concerned?

I would get it checked out - you can't be too careful, Sqad will be able to tell you more maybe......
You should always get any change in moles checked. The chances are it's innocent, but let the doctor be the judge of that.
easier to get it checked out and put your mind at rest than leave it and worry.
Injury to a mole shouldn't cause any problem, but your GP should take a look, particularly since you can't see it yourself. Mine took a photo of the moles on my back.
I had a mole on the back of my leg for years. Then overnight it changed. It changed colour and went 'scabby'. I went to see my GP; within a week I was admitted to hospital and had it removed. It was a skin cancer..... So loren1987, go see your GP,and let him have a look, better safe than sorry.
//// It has gone back to normal now ///

That is the bottom line here.
If it was my mole I wouldn't go to see the GP.
You are clearly concerned, so let your GP have a look.
I was told by a hospital specialist that any mole bigger than the blunt end of a pencil needs to be checked.

please get it checked asap.
